ASGE Rümenapp digitalises fire door production with Logikal MES

ASGE Rümenapp Metallbaugesellschaft mbH was founded in 2002 and is based in Langelsheim in the Harz region. From the outset, the company has focused on the manufacture of fire and smoke control doors. These are produced in aluminium, steel and stainless steel, and are available as partially glazed, fully glazed or all-glass systems.

For design, estimating and work preparation, ASGE Rümenapp has relied on Logikal since 2008. In 2019, Managing Director Dennis Rümenapp decided to digitalise production as well by introducing Logikal MES into the business.

Managing CE marking and FPC efficiently

Documentation and marking requirements are becoming increasingly demanding—particularly in fire protection, ASGE Rümenapp’s core business. “In fire protection, everything around compliance and marking has become more demanding. In reality, you would need a dedicated person to handle documentation alone.” Factory production control was another area where the company actively looked for more efficient processes. “With Logikal MES, we now have a tool that makes this easier for us. The work steps have become simpler.”

A new level of order in production: paperless and transparent

Employees value working with the system. Clear task structures and precise work instructions help them stay focused. Instructions are delivered directly to the MES terminals at each workstation. Elements are first created in Logikal and then transferred to the shop floor via Logikal MES. Works planner Thomas Schweska explains:
“The dashboard shows exactly how far each job has progressed and whether it has already been completed.”On the shop floor, metalworker Sascha Günther demonstrates different stages—from sawing and machining to assembly:
“At the terminal, I can see all the fittings and accessories required for the door. Logikal MES also gives us access to online catalogues from other suppliers, which we can check at any time.”

Digital production supports skilled teams

The shortage of skilled labour remains a major challenge in the window, door and façade industry. For Dennis Rümenapp, the key question was clear:
How can we make work easier for the people we have—when finding new staff is difficult? In recent years, the company has invested in machinery as well as software and hardware. Digital production with Logikal MES is a key part of this strategy. “We’re on the right track,” says Dennis Rümenapp.

For Sascha Günther, the benefit is tangible:
“We now know much faster what needs to be done, where and how, to get the right result. We can work in a focused way and complete projects quickly. Before, there was more running around than actual work. Now I can block out everything that isn’t immediately relevant.”

“With Logikal MES the work steps have become simpler.”
