General Questions About Logikal

What is Logikal?

Logikal is industry software for the windows, doors and façades sector. It supports estimating, design and manufacturing in one end-to-end process—supported by automatic plausibility checks to help prevent errors.

Who is Logikal for?

Logikal is designed for window and door manufacturers, metal fabrication companies and façade contractors—plus planners and architects who work with Logikal data. It helps you estimate reliably, design correctly and prepare jobs for production. More than 18,000 users worldwide work with Logikal.

Can I explore Logikal without installing anything?

Yes. The Demo Tour lets you experience Logikal interactively and see how design, estimating and production preparation work—without installation and without obligation.

What sets Logikal apart from other window fabrication software?

Three things clearly distinguish Logikal:

  1. Supplier-independent data foundation: Logikal provides product and pricing data from 450+ suppliers (profiles, hardware, glass and accessories). You decide which product catalogues you want to use, stay flexible in your system choices, and quote using maintained data.
  2. Integrated plausibility and rules checks: During planning, Logikal automatically checks technical rules and dependencies and only offers items from suppliers that can actually be used in the selected configuration. This prevents typical mistakes—before they can reach purchasing or production.
  3. End-to-end process through to production: From estimating and design to work preparation and CNC output, everyone works with consistent data. Media breaks and manual handovers are reduced.

Data foundation, product catalogues and accuracy

How many manufacturers’ and suppliers’ datasets are available in Logikal?

Logikal is supplier-independent and provides technical and commercial data from 450+ suppliers. You subscribe to the product catalogues relevant to your business and always work with maintained item and price data. Prices are always up to date and can be defined using discounts, multis, or kg prices.

Which items are available in Logikal?

Logikal includes profiles, hardware, glass, components and accessories—more than 7 million items in total from 450+ suppliers. Forterro maintains technical data and prices continuously and keeps them up to date via update downloads.

How does Logikal reduce input errors in design and estimating?

Logikal uses integrated checking mechanisms (“logic control”). Technical dependencies and plausibility are validated early—e.g. where dimensions, hardware logic or system rules don’t match. Typical knock-on errors are flagged before they reach purchasing or production.

Do I work with list prices in Logikal, or can I store my own prices and margins?

In Logikal, you generally work with maintained supplier prices as the basis. In addition, you can set up your estimating logic to match your own pricing strategy—e.g. using discounts, surcharges, multis, or kg prices.

Which materials can I use with Logikal: aluminium, steel and PVC?

Yes. Logikal supports manufacturing with aluminium, steel and PVC profiles. The database includes items and systems for all three material groups.

How many languages is Logikal available in?

You can use Logikal in eleven languages: Czech, Dutch, English, French, German, Greek, Italian, Polish, Slovenian, Spanish and Turkish.

Which currencies can I use for calculations in Logikal?

All of them—Logikal has every currency worldwide built in.

Estimating, quotations and project work

How does Logikal support quotation creation?

With Logikal, you can estimate windows, doors, lift-and-slide doors and curtain walls  faster and more accurately. The software uses current item data and supplier prices. You can choose from bulk packs or individual items, optimise across different delivery sizes (such as lengths or pack sizes), and calculate the lowest purchase price for your estimate. Labour times are calculated at the same time—for robust quotations and less rework.

Can Logikal import line items from bills of quantities or tender documents?

That depends on the format and the workflow you want. Please contact us—we’ll show you the available options for importing items in a structured way and reducing manual input.

How up to date are prices in Logikal?

Price data from 450+ suppliers is maintained continuously. In Logikal, you generally work with current list prices, giving you a reliable basis—without manually updating price lists. You still remain flexible: if needed, you can also work with older price lists or project-specific discounts.

Can Logikal output project data in other formats?

Yes. In the base version, you can export information for estimating, purchasing and production in common formats, e.g. PDF, Word or Excel. With additional modules such as BIM or CAD, further formats are available, such as DXF, DWG, IFC and RVT.

Can Logikal estimate complex bespoke constructions?

Yes. Logikal guides you through unusual or complex element geometries. Integrated checks validate structural requirements, compliance and technical feasibility—so you can estimate and quote even demanding projects with confidence.

Design, CAD and technical planning

Does Logikal support the design of windows, doors and curtain walls?

Yes. Logikal supports element input and guides the design process with automatic checks to keep combinations technically plausible.
